Supply Chain grants intended to strengthen Connecticut’s core industries, clean economy
Program also available to out-of-state and international firms
Connecticut’s heritage as a leader in manufacturing continues to evolve and grow with advanced technology companies innovating, designing, and building everything from precision components to submarines, jet engines, offshore wind energy vessels, and plenty more.
To help our storied manufacturing sector continue to support local economies across the state with jobs that provide solid wages and family-sustaining benefits, the Connecticut Department of Economic and Community Development has established a $25 million grant fund in support of the Strategic Supply Chain Initiative. A primary focus area is businesses supporting the clean economy.
This program is available to out-of-state and international businesses interested in expanding and working with Connecticut’s skilled workforce.
Grants ranging from $500,000 to $5 million are intended to help companies increase their production capacity to win new business, accelerate onshoring activities, and attract out-of-state and international supply chain operations.
This program is designed to help companies contribute to the ecosystem of Connecticut’s core industries by expanding and increasing production capacity.
Funds can be used for a variety of growth strategies, including:
- Purchasing machinery & equipment
- Addition of robotics and new technology to boost productivity
- Making infrastructure improvements
- Investing in product and process innovation
- Capital Investments
- Establishing new operations in support of Connecticut’s core industries
Priority consideration will be given to supply chain companies in Connecticut’s core industries including, but not limited to, the following:
- Manufacturing
- Semiconductors
- Insurtech and Fintech
- Biomedical instruments and life sciences
- Clean energy
- Information technology
Matching funds are required, and applicants must commit to retaining their existing workforce.
