U.S. Senator Murphy Appoints Kristin Urbach to Serve on Long Island Sound Council

U.S. Senator Chris Murphy has appointed Executive Director Kristin Urbach to his Long Island Sound Regional Priority Council.

“Senator Murphy views these councils as a unique way to connect partners and community leaders across the state on shared priorities and overlapping work through our staff,” according to a statement from the Senator’s office. “These Councils include diverse community leaders who work on conservation, the blue economy, fishing, aquaculture, environmental issues and more.”

The Councils also provide communication opportunities, with the Senator’s staff offering federal updates from his outreach and policy teams while Council members provide updates from the local level that will inform Sen. Murphy’s staff about critical issues facing his constituents.

“It’s clear that Kristin’s vast experience across a number of sectors is getting noticed in just her short time leading the charge for offshore wind in Connecticut,” said Paul Lavoie, Chairman of the CT Wind Collaborative Board of Directors and Connecticut’s Chief Manufacturing Officer. “I know Kristin will be a key asset to Sen. Murphy’s Long Island Sound Regional Priority Council with her passion for protecting the environment and her broad skillset.”
