Board vice-chair discusses multi-state supply chain coordination at ‘Offshore Wind USA 2024’
CWC Board co-Vice Chair Andrew Lavigne participated as a panelists ‘Offshore Wind USA 2024,’ a national Reuters conference held in Boston in June.
Lavigne, Clean Economy Manager in the Connecticut Department of Economic and Community Development, joined David Ortiz, Ørsted’s Head of Government Affairs and Market Strategy for the Northeast, for a discussion focused on “navigating a multi-state supply chain to capture cost reductions.” Andrew also discussed the strategies and goals of the Connecticut Offshore Wind Strategic Roadmap.
Their talk was based on the nation’s first multi-state offshore wind energy bid solicitation process established by leaders of Connecticut, Rhode Island and Massachusetts.
More than 400 stakeholders attended the two-day conference. Speakers included White House National Climate Advisor and Assistant to the President, Ali Zaidi; Karen Baker, Chief of Renewable Energy Programs at the federal Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, representatives of international offshore wind energy developers, and others in workforce development, regulatory processes, and industry.
